Milton D’Rosario, from an Anglo-Indian background, arrived at St Mary’s in 1969. In 1960, his father had come to the UK as a British citizen and the family settled in Brick Lane, East London. Milton and two other boys in his East End primary school won a scholarship to the London Oratory School but, after the family moved to Welling in 1968, the travelling became too much and he was transferred to St Mary’s. Milton’s family consisted of five boys and he was followed to St Mary’s by two of them - Valentine and Kenneth. Milton was good friends with Tracy Shanahan, Paddy Norton and Steve Peet.

After leaving St Mary’s in 1976, Milton worked in branch banking for Barclays before moving to Ireland where he got married. He started a new job at Ulster Bank in Dublin and worked as an investment foreign exchange money trader for 30 years before accepting a severance package and retiring.

He says of St Mary’s: “It gave me a good grounding and the qualifications to pursue my career.”
